The project Digital Media Competitions and
implemented in 2010-2011 and was funded by the European Commission.
The fundamental objective of the project was to
promote the Commission’s priorities from November 2010 to November 2011 across
the younger demographic groups in Cyprus. For example, the project disseminated
the positives of Volunteerism, as 2011 was the European Year of Volunteerism;
raised awareness about climate change; and, supported the principles of driving
economic recovery in respect to the youth.
The main activities of the project included a
competition on tackling climate change and a social networking event ‘the
Buffer zone bloggers’.
